Think Tank Addition, Lakeside, MI

Recently, we were contracted to do an addition to an award winning property we renovated in 2009 (see Residential Additions/Renovations). The original structure was intended to be an accessory building once a larger house was constructed on this lake front property. The current Owners love the small building and the large yard so much that they wanted to expand it and have it become the main house.

How do you do that while maintaining the jewel box quality of the existing building? A proposed glassed in link/library preserves the integrity of the existing building while allowing a small addtion that accommodates our Clients expanded program: Large kitchen, mud/laundry room, 2 bedrooms w/ lake views, and an office. The vertical 2 1/2 story addition is in contrast to horizontality of the existing building. Matching siding @ windows will bookend the glassed in link.
