Harris Barn, Weesaw Township, MI

The original barn on the property was starting to deteriorate with holes in the roof and walls, opening it up to the weather and critters. The Owners hoped to do something with it and maintain the feel/look of the existing structure. It also had to relate to the main house (Carr Warner renovation -see Harris Farm). The barn now will be repurposed as an area to hold large family dinners, areas for teens to hang out, exercise room, art installations and guest accommodations . Structural insulated panels (SIP) were added to the exterior walls and roof to maintain the interior finishes. The new interior plan retains the volume of the original barn while providing all the necessary spaces.
