Old Town Townhouse Combo, Chicago

Adjacent townhouses were combined into a one unit to create a unique single family home. Tall ceilings on the first floor allowed transoms to be added above the doors , bringing natural light deeper into the middle of the home and views of the sky above the privacy wall. Removal of a redundant staircase opened up the area available for the kitchen. This was key for the clients to have large place for family and friends to gather. The new open floor plan design and furnishing selections pick up on the loft feel of the existing exposed brick party wall.
